Last Saturday was my lecturer - Mr. Puvin's BIG DAY, his wedding. He held at BM, due to I have no idea how to get there, so I sit Liji's car together with Joanne. Sadly, our batch left three of us, Bongkot and Sanjeetha only.

Lion Dance

Last week, my college's principal had invite a lion dance team to our college. around 10am in the morning they had arrived and started the lion dance at the main building and then came to School of Hospitality & Tourism building. After the lion dance had finished, one of our malay lecturer asked us chinese why want to have lion dance during Chinese New Year. so i went home and google about it. Now, let's tell you what's the lion dance and the history. I will tell you about why Chinese New Year want to have lion dance.

Lion dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture, in which performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume. Lion dance is operated by two people, the performers' faces are covered and the basic lion dance fundamental movements can be found in most Chinese martial arts.

The story of lion dance goes like this: once upon a time, a monk had a dream in which there were many sorrows and evils plaguing the land. the monk prayed and asked the gods how he could prevent these evils from occuring. the gods told him that a lion would protect them and fight back the evils. the Chinese people had never see a lion before, but had heard stories that the lion was the king of all the other animals, so the monk combined all the lucky or magical animals he could think of and so made a lion.

If you look closely at any lion, you can see a red sash tied on its horn. it is told that the lion got too arrogant and told the gods that he was more powerful than all of them combined. this of coutse cause the gods to get very angry, so as punishments they chopped off his horn. and told him to fight off a thousand evils without his power. the lion of course couldn't and people were dying because the lion couldn't protect them from the evils. the Goddess of Mercy felt bad for him so she tied his horn back on with a red sash.

During Chinese New Year, lion dancer troupes from the Chinese martial art schoold or Chinese guild and association will visit the houses and shops of the Chinese community to perform the traditional custom of 'cai ching', literally means 'plucking the greens', a quest by the lion to pluck the auspicious green normally 'vegetables' like lettuce which in Chinese call 'cai' that sound like 'cai' (fortune) and auspicious fruit like oranges tied to a "Red Envelope' containing money; either hang highly or just put on a table in front of the premises. the 'lion' will dance and approach the 'green' and 'red envelope' like a curious cat, to 'eat the green' and 'spit' it out leave it in a nice arrangement, like a auspicious character but keep the 'red envelope'. the lion dance is believe to bring good luck and fortune to the business and the troupe is rewarded with the 'red envelope'

Wild Wild West

Okay, i know i'm so late to post about this, but i just suddenly think of that. xD We have to organize 2 banquet event as our assignments for Banquet Management. First one is a semi buffet lunch and our theme was Wild Wild West aka WWW. :D

           We have to plan everything ourselves such as menu, decoration, table arrangement,

coupon, poster and so on.  Here are some of the event photos, our event was successful as 3 of the lecturer also said every good. BUT, at last moment, there were an incident happened and had made the event suddenly fall until the bottom.

Educational Trip

Last Thursday our club had organize an educational trip to Malacca & KL. the main purpose of this trip to go to the MiFB exhibition at TWPC, KL. reached college around 6.30am then we move to Sunway Carnival to pick up other students then our journey start. first, we went to Malacca. before that, we stop by a toll station to have our brunch.

after that we move to Malacca. forget the actual time, but first place we reached at Malacca was Mahkota Guest House, the place for us to overnight. we check - in and have a rest.

After that, we walked from our guest house to A' Famosa. we keep take photo while we on our way to A' Famosa.

was so hot, we walked under the sun. finally, we reached. all people busy talking photo but i'm not in the mood cause i have skin allergy on my hand. : ( so not much photo taken as i din't bring any camera also.

after that, we hang around at Dataran Mahkota then we went to Taming Menara? *i forget the name.* =X to see the view of Malacca. then we walked to the chinese food court and have our dinner. i order nyonya laksa but actually at penang we called it as CURRY MEE.== LOL!

Before we end the first day, we went for river cruise. the view was not bad and we make a lot of fun during the journey.Due to Jonker Stree only open on Friday - Sunday so we have to cancel the last itinerary and went back to guest house.

The second day, we check - out around 10am and went to shopping mall shopping, nothing much to buy over there. i just bought a pair of earing, me, ranny, jeremy and christel bought a piece of FIFA jersey and it's only cost RM20 each. : D we wear it on the spot. around 12something, we move to Putrajaya.

First station we stop was the dont know what Ministry castle? i have forget what the hell is the name of the place. whatever, we took some photo over there and it's freaking hot.

after that, we move to our Intekma Resort Check - in. Due to traffic jam, we took quite a long time only reach, couldn't rest at the resort cause we have to go to Flaming Steamboat Buffet to have our dinner. I eat a lot and super duper full, regret- ing now : (

after the dinner, we move to our last station which is I- city, the place full of light. they decorate all the things with light.

we went back to resort around 12something.

The third day we went to SEGi University College at Damansara, and also MiFB at TWPC. wear formal and heels because of the MiFB but actually most of the people are wearing casual. :S before we leave KL, we drop by KLCC, change clothes and hang around over there. after that we went back to penang.

Have a nice holidays and guess what? i dint spent much during this trip. i just spent RM 100 - RM 150, despite the fees. it's totally out of my expectation and i feel glad of myself. XD

Sorry, i not mean that

Finally, i knew it. i don't ever know that a joke can make people feel uncomfortable and all the things suddenly turn into another way. i thought everybody already used to the way of teasing and shooting each other. i think i'm wrong because i think i have hurt him deeply due to that is the way he prove to his be love. i'm SORRY about that, i really do not meant it. actually i'm saying that if i were you, i will give up easily. perhaps my way of talking is too impolite, but i do not meant to laugh at you. yes, maybe i do laugh at that time, but i doesn't mean to hurt you. seriously and honestly, i'm so admire you because of your passion.

maybe you might not read this, but who knows? maybe you will know? it's not that important whether you know or not, because i do really hurt you. but if have the chance, i hope that you can read this and understand that i'm not purposely to do so.
